On the other hand, a normal bell-curve of people in a well-designed organizational ecosystem will perform brilliantly.įurthermore, an organization that depends on super-achievers is expensive and fragile. Great people in a bad organizational ecosystem will just cause harm more effectively. Time to polish your golf game to get back to playing golf with the big boss. Why almost EVERYONE sucks at interviewing, even box checkers. So now interviewers are blinded by checking boxes, instead of listening to the stories. Someone can come along and kick the castle while you are not looking, kick it while you are looking to get the sand in your eyes, state that it is cool, state that it sucks, or the big boss Mother Nature takes it away.Įnough women OB/GYN exist who left Mayo because they wanted 24/7 workers~so much for WE. That means it really isn't an interview puzzle problem, it's more of a sandcastle interview problem. Then the nonsense of finding that organization's "we/I ratio." 50%/50% we/I?! 70%/30% we/I?! It’s a short word, but one that conveys a lot. Getting back to interviews, you also see many reports on "The language you use throughout your job interview is very important, but there’s one word that could undermine your suitability for the role in the eyes of your interviewer. Just like every VC says "we look at the people behind the start-up." What rubbish! It comes down to = "your numbers suck." Sadly, almost EVERYONE sucks at interviewing.
